Gather round kids, the grand news on the Halloween party is listed below:

The theme, has been decided and it is Muggle clothing eras. If you are wondering what this is then I will lead you on the right path to figuring it out. There are the old baroque styles, the Victorian fashions, the flappers, Greasers, hippies... I can go on, but the Headmistress thinks this would be a great opportunity to add a bit of study to the festivities, so hit the muggle study texts. Apparently there is a few on fashion in the library. Choose wisely, there is a costume competition taking place at the end of the night.

Now don't rush off yet, there is one more detail I am giving. The dance itself is a Masquerade, doesn't matter what your costume is, you should have a mask to cover at least half your face. It will be part of the fun for the twists within the dance itself. That's right, there is more to this night than just a dance, I'll let you stew on this.

This school year has so far been pretty interesting hasn't it?
Nothing to big so far really, but still enough surprises to keep us all with plenty to talk about. Next week we have the first Interhouse challenge announced, are all the teams ready for it? If not better pick up the pace and get together!

Hope you all have something that smells great, If you haven't gotten a chance to wander the castle yet I would tell you to stay far far away from the first floor in the right wing. The plumbing has decided to spew its contents back up the drains. I don't think I am going to eat breakfast today...

To all prefects
There is going to be a prefects meeting in the muggle studies classroom Monday night after dinner. Nothing too major, so don't worry shouldn't take long at all.

School work, wonderful school work...

Well now that everything is in motion this should be a good year, exciting what with the fun planned this year.

I found someone's rat, at least I would assume it is someone's, unless the wild rats around the castle have taken to wearing little purple sweaters. Absolutely ridiculous to dress one up in a sweater If anyone knows its owner let me know, best to get it home Since I don't like rats much

I'm back and I am loving it,

The states was hot! Still getting over the jet lag, but I managed to get my books and such for class. Overall the trip to Kentucky was a success, and I mean that business wise for my mum. Tried out the horse racing scene there, very nice, that is what I will stop at.

Mischa I'm so sorry I didn't answer your post! I've been sleeping at odd hours. You know that you are welcome at my place anytime. Did you get the package I sent you? I haven't sent one of those in ages by muggle mail since Owls are so much faster, plus muggles and mail don't mix too well. In truth I wouldn't be surprised if I got back before the package got to you!

Isaac mate, how was your summer? You have to take a trip to the states, the birds
